Position Overview: Project Manager I – Transformers
Job Summary:
The Project Manager I – Transformers owns assigned customer transformer orders from order entry through delivery across one product line, including standard, non-standard configurations and utility accounts. The role carries full accountability for scope, schedule, cost, margin, and the customer relationship.
A. Key Responsibilities
- Own assigned customer transformer orders on one product line from order entry through delivery.
- Review orders at entry for technical, commercial, and pricing alignment against the quotation, and confirm booked margin against quoted margin.
- Develop and maintain project schedules covering engineering release, material availability, production slot, test, and shipment.
- Track actual project cost against booked cost, report variance, and originate change orders with supporting documentation.
- Maintain the project risk register with assigned owners and committed dates, and document issues and customer-caused impacts as they occur.
- Serve as the point of contact for assigned customers, communicating adverse news early with a recovery plan attached.
- Coordinate factory acceptance and customer witness testing and manage nonconformance reports through disposition and customer notification.
- Manage procurement activity for assigned orders, including purchase order issuance and supplier expediting.
- Coordinate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality to fulfill project responsibilities.
B. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of project coordination or project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage commitments against schedule and cost.
- Proficient utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Job Summary:
The Project Manager II – Transformers owns assigned customer transformer orders from order entry through delivery across two product lines, including non-standard configurations and utility accounts. The role carries full accountability for scope, schedule, cost, margin, and the customer relationship, and mentors Junior Project Managers.
A. Key Responsibilities
- Own assigned customer transformer orders across dry-type and pad-mount product lines from order entry through shipment, including non-standard configurations.
- Review orders at entry for technical, commercial, and pricing alignment against the quotation, and confirm booked margin against quoted margin.
- Develop and maintain project schedules covering engineering release, material availability, production slot, test, and shipment, coordinating production slotting with Manufacturing against capacity across two product lines.
- Manage cost and margin performance, including variance reporting, change order origination and pricing, and escalation of cost erosion before it is absorbed.
- Maintain the project risk register and contemporaneous documentation of issues, delays, and customer-caused impacts, and analyze schedule recovery options with cost-versus-time trade-offs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, including utility accounts, communicating adverse news early with a recovery plan and converting service recovery into repeat business.
- Manage procurement activity for assigned orders, including purchase order issuance, expediting, and supplier delivery escalation.
- Coordinate factory acceptance and customer witness testing, and manage nonconformance reports through disposition and customer notification.
- Coordinate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales without direct authority, escalating competing priorities with a recommended decision.
- Maintain project data integrity in SAP and Salesforce and produce project reporting from system data rather than parallel tracking.
- Mentor Junior Project Managers on transactional execution and escalation judgement.
B. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of project management experience in industrial manufacturing or engineered products.
- Demonstrated independent ownership of customer orders through full execution, including cost and schedule accountability.
- Two product endorsements covering dry-type and pad-mount.
- Fundamental understanding electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, nameplate data, and factory test documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proficient utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
