Job Summary
The Jr. Project Manager will support the planning, execution, and completion of projects within the Electrical division. This role involves coordinating project activities, overseeing timelines, and ensuring effective communication among team members and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and a keen understanding of the power industry, particularly in Medium Voltage Switchgear.
A. Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination:
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Manage 15–20 concurrent switchgear projects from purchase order receipt through shipment and closeout.
- Prepare and issue Order Acknowledgements (OAs).
- Coordinate drawing submittals and manage approval cycles and revisions.
- Monitor manufacturing progress and identify potential impacts to the critical path.
- Escalate production priorities and material constraints to senior leadership when required.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Prepare and distribute project status reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation as required.
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings, including preparing agendas and tracking action items.
- Coordinate factory visits, inspections, and milestone reviews.
- Lead change order management process, including review of scope revisions, coordination with Engineering and Marketing, customer communication, and documentation of cost and schedule impacts
- Resource Management:
- Assist in the allocation and management of project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Track project expenses and assist in budget management.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor long-lead materials and supply chain constraints impacting delivery schedules.
- Travel:
- For business meetings and or customer visits as needed.
D. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or currently pursuing a degree in Project Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in the power industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to schedule, work between various groups, and continually update for the customer
- Knowledge of the power industry is highly desirable.
