JST Power Equipment Continues to Make Progress on Nogales, Mexico Facility Expansion

Nogales, Mexico—JST Power Equipment shares new developments in the expansion of its production facilities in Nogales, Mexico. In May 2024, JST Power took possession of an additional 140,000 sq ft facility in Nogales and in early August, new production equipment and materials—including auto winders—were delivered to the new location. Auto winder machines are used in the manufacturing process of cast resin transformers.

Vice President of Strategic Projects and Mexico Operations, Paul Cairney explains, “The expansion will allow our teams to optimize efficiency and see throughput improvements in the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, in the future, it will give us a greater opportunity to expand our manufacturing capacity in North America.”

Following the installation of equipment, engineers and technicians from our China plants will lead the local teams in formal training on the new equipment. Training is scheduled for early November.

Ignacio Castro, Nogales Plant Manager, shares, “The collaboration between our Mexico and China teams has just been outstanding throughout this entire process.
