JST Power Partners with MaxSolar To Advance 60 MW Solar Grid Project in Southern Germany

A phrase often used with a smile in one of Germany’s most picturesque regions – and now home to one of its most forward-looking energy infrastructure projects.

JST Power Equipment supplied two power transformers for MaxSolar’s newly constructed high-voltage substation in Eppingen. The substation serves as the grid connection point for a 56 MW photovoltaic plant in nearby Gemmingen.

Moving nearly 130 tons of transformers is no small task, let alone building, installing, and energizing the equipment on time. That’s why JST engaged early and intensively with MaxSolar and coordinated closely with all project stakeholders. A professional project support team from JST worked alongside MaxSolar’s general contractor and a heavy-load logistics company specializing in energy sector transport. All subcontractors involved in transport and installation were carefully selected and qualified by JST.

Combined with agri-PV on 5 hectares of land, a planned Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and participation from regional energy cooperatives, this flagship project demonstrates what the future of decentralized renewable power can look like in southern Germany.
