Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager – Transformers is responsible for leading and executing client-specific transformer projects across JST’s transformer product lines, including dry-type and liquid-filled transformers. This role serves as the primary internal coordinator for customer-driven projects, ensuring successful execution from order entry through delivery. The position works closely with customers and internal teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and manufacturing, to manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.
A. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead Project Manager for assigned customer-specific transformer projects across multiple product lines.
- Act as the primary internal point of coordination for customer projects, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and internal execution.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and sales to ensure on-time and on-budget project execution.
- Track project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans; proactively address issues that may impact scope, schedule, cost, or quality.
- Ensure all projects progress in alignment with contractual requirements, technical specifications, and customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and status reports for internal leadership and stakeholders.
- Support customer communications as required, including participation in progress reviews, milestone meetings, and issue resolution discussions.
- Provide oversight of order execution from engineering release through manufacturing, testing, shipment, and delivery.
- Support the broader Project Management team by assisting with scheduling, workload balancing, and serving as backup during vacation or peak workload periods.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution processes, communication workflows, and internal coordination.
B. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project management supporting technical, manufacturing, or industrial equipment projects.
- Minimum 5 years of professional project management in industrial, manufacturing or engineering products space.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
C. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing transformer, electrical equipment, or power distribution projects.
- Experience working directly on customer-specific or engineer-to-order (ETO) projects.
- Project management certification or formal training (PMP, CAPM, or similar).
- Experience operating in a cross-functional, matrixed manufacturing organization.
