Our OD3MAG™ breaker is the first medium voltage substation breaker with configurable single-phase or three-phase operation. This feature blends the ratings and durability of a circuit breaker with the functionality of a recloser. By tripping individual phases on a distribution system, utilities are able to improve SAIDI and SAIFI scores, reduce restoration times and enhance overall system performance. Combined with a robust enclosure that prevents moisture and contamination ingress, the OD3MAG breaker uses field-proven magnetic actuation to significantly reduce O&M spend.
We offer our OD3MAG™ breaker in the following power ranges: 15 kV / 2000 A / 31.5 kAIC / 125 BIL. Standard features include: single-phase capability with independent pole actuators, position indicators for each phase, manual trip lever and mechanical lockout, lift-out breaker for easy upgrades and repairs, LV control instrument panel swing door, extra creep bushings and overhead lift and forklift provisions for flexible onsite handling.
Optional features include: single-phase or three-phase OPEN/CLOSE configurations, flexible door design, aluminum or steel construction options, CT and Ragowski coil options.
The OD3Mag™ is the first MV Substation Breaker that allows the choice of 1-phase or 3-phase operation.
This feature allows you the performance and ratings of a circuit breaker and the functionality of a recloser. By tripping individual phases in distribution systems, utilities are able to improve their SAIDI and SAIFI scores and enhance the resiliency of their network.
Robust cabinet design to prevent moisture and contamination
Magnetic actuation technology
Welded roof design eliminates roof deflection and reduces water leakage
Designed to view operation counter without the need to open control door
Our solution combines robust design and construction with field-proven magnetic actuation. Magnetic actuation required fewer moving parts and eliminates lubrication requirements. Direct drive push rods eliminate structural torquing of the breaker and results in longer life of vacuum interrupters. In addition, magnetic losses are negligible resulting in consistent operating speed across entire temperature rating of the breaker and entire life of the breaker and offers reduced noise during operation. Overall reduction in costs result from no preventative maintenance on actuators and low power requirements from station service batteries or transformer.
