After six years of operation, JST Power Equipment’s first North American manufacturing facility in Nogales, Mexico celebrates the production of its 5,000th transformer. The 30 MVA unit, weighing a total of 60 metric tons, is also the facility’s largest transformer unit to date. Nogales plant manager, Ignacio Castro, expresses his gratitude to the global and local teams, “Colleagues in China, USA, and other countries around the world have helped us along the way, and we deeply appreciate their support. Most importantly, thanks to all the employees in Nogales that make all this possible!”
The Nogales facility has been open since 2019 and produces various dry-type transformers, including cast resin and VPI product lines. The team, of approximately 80 employees, specializes in assembly, fabrication, testing, inspection and packaging. Over the year, the Nogales facility has continued to transform and expand since its opening in 2019.
In 2024, JST Power announced the acquisition of a second Nogales building and is currently in the final stages of training for its new coil manufacturing process. Learn more about the Nogales facility.
