JST Power Equipment participated in the preview of Erie Solar, a new 172-acre, 24-megawatt solar farm in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Developed by Cypress Creek Renewables, the project is designed to generate enough renewable electricity to serve nearly 3,000 homes and businesses each year.
The facility, located in Girard, PA, is nearing completion and will soon begin supplying energy to the local grid. Over its expected 40-year operational life, Erie Solar is projected to contribute more than $2 million in property tax revenue to the surrounding community.
To deliver power efficiently, the site is equipped with over 44,000 solar panels connected to six JST Power Equipment transformers. These transformers step up the output voltage from 630 volts to 34.5 kilovolts, enabling smooth integration into the regional grid. Built to handle diverse weather conditions, the transformers will help maintain consistent energy delivery throughout the year.
Erie Solar is one of several large-scale renewable energy projects underway in Northwest Pennsylvania. For JST Power Equipment, the project represents another opportunity to provide reliable electrical infrastructure that supports clean energy growth and strengthens grid resilience.
