Job Description:
The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a critical role within the Finance team, overseeing advanced accounting activities, conducting in‑depth financial analysis, and supporting cross‑functional operations across manufacturing, distribution, and service environments within the power equipment industry. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of complex financial transactions, enhances internal controls, supports reporting and analytics, and contributes to strategic business decisions.
A. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments to maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Manage components of the month‑end and year‑end close process, ensuring completeness and adherence to GAAP.
- Analyze inventory activity, cost variances, standard costing, and work‑in‑process transactions.
- Conduct gross margin analysis for equipment, service, and aftermarket parts, and provide insights into operational performance.
- Develop and prepare financial reports, dashboards, KPIs, and variance analyses for leadership.
- Strengthen internal controls across manufacturing, distribution, and service operations.
- Assist with audit preparation, regulatory compliance, and creation of accounting SOPs.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, sales, and service teams to assess financial impacts and support business initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, commission process improvements, and financial system training.
B. Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or the power equipment industry.
- Strong experience with cost accounting and inventory processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or NetSuite.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and financial modeling.
- Preferred:
- Experience supporting manufacturing, field service, or distribution‑related financial processes.
- Exposure to developing financial KPIs or analytics dashboards.
- Prior experience assisting with audits, compliance activity, or SOP creation.
- Familiarity with systems such as SAP, FIFRO, and Concur.

- Periodic visits to production floors, service centers, or distribution facilities may be required.
- Additional hours may be necessary during month‑end close, year‑end close, or key financial projects.
