Position Overview
The Field Engineer / Technician will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to interface directly with client representatives, sub-contractors, and construction partners to witness, report on, and schedule field service activities. This position will also require international travel to manufacturing facilities to receive training and to witness manufacturing methods and also to report on production status.
This position will require international travel. A valid Passport and ability to obtain travel visas will be required.
Key Field Responsibilities
- Interface directly with client representatives
- Update client on planned activities via in person meetings and other means as required
- Participate in daily pre-job briefs with sub-contractors
- Develop site specific delivery and logistic plans
- Create and update constructions schedules
- Perform component delivery inspections
- Coordinate sub-contractor activities as needed
- Create and update daily reports of installed commodities
- Witness, coordinate, and document, 3rd party testing as required
When not on client job sites, this position will serve to:
- Develop work plans
- Collaborate to create and submit SOP’s
- Conduct Vendor surveillance visits
- Evaluate quotes
- Collaborate with production teams to address any non-conformities found during testing.
- Document and report test results, highlighting any issues or deviations from expected outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any failures or quality issues identified during the testing process.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Previous technical construction site experience in power transmission and/or generation.
- Familiarity with industrial construction sites and safety protocols
- LOTO procedures
- Proficiency in PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of and ability to complete OSHA 30 hour training.
- Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, schematics, and written work instructions/procedures.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (EE) from an ABET accredited college is preferred, with an educational focus in Power Systems studies, with knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage up to 500 kV.
- Willingness to travel up to 50-70%, including daily travel to customer sites and periodic overnight travel.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
- Knowledge of and ability to complete CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training.
- Physical capability to crawl, climb, stand, and lift to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
