Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Leader (BDL) to drive growth and expand our presence in the Data Center market. This role requires a deep understanding of the data center ecosystem, including colocation providers, hyperscalers, integrators, and mission-critical infrastructure partners. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with business acumen to identify opportunities, develop strategic relationships, and drive sales across target accounts.
A. Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the Data Center vertically, identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including end users, specifiers, OEMs, and engineering firms within the data center space.
- Identify and qualify new project opportunities across collocation, hyperscale, and enterprise segments.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing to ensure alignment with market needs and emerging trends.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on industry trends, technologies, standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, etc.), and competitors.
- Drive account strategy and engagement plans for strategic customers and projects.
- Support the sales team by providing technical guidance, customer presentations, and proposal support.
- Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
B. Qualifications and Skills
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing to ensure alignment with market needs and emerging trends.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 30–50%.
C. Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or solutions engineering in the data center or mission-critical infrastructure market.
- Experience working with OEMs, switchgear manufacturers, or power distribution companies.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (UL, CE, NEC, etc.) in data center environments.
- Prior work in or with cloud providers, colocation data center operators, or critical facility design teams.
